States With Most Super Bowl Touchdowns

Fact Checked by Nate Hamilton

Few states have produced more NFL-level players over the years than Missouri, with the Show-Me State being up there among the top gridiron regions of the country, with two more players from Missouri making the rosters of the hometown Kansas City Chiefs (Felix Anudike-Uzomah and Tershawn Wharton) and Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

With neither of those suiting up on the offensive side of the ball, it’s safe to assume that Missouri’s Super Bowl touchdown total will not increase in 2025, which got us thinking about which states do have a decent shot at boosting their TD figure during the Big Game, with states like Texas, Ohio, New Jersey and California all having two players apiece represented in Super Bowl LIX.

As for the game itself, DraftKings Sportsbook currently has K.C. down as a 1.5-point favorite in Super Bowl LIX, with a -130 moneyline on the two-time defending champs, while the Eagles are listed at +110 in Super Bowl LIX.

Utilizing ProFootballReference.com, we broke from Missouri sports betting updates and looked at the states with the most touchdowns in the Super Bowl. There have been 318 touchdowns scored in Super Bowl history.

Which States Have The Best Shot At Adding Touchdowns in Super Bowl LIX?

Given that both quarterbacks are from the Lone Star State, it’s safe to assume that Texas will add to the 35 scores the second most populous state in America has amassed in the Super Bowl come Feb. 9, while Florida has a shot at bolstering the state’s current top figure of 38 scores when Marquise Brown suits up for the Chiefs.

The state with the third most touchdowns in the Super Bowl (California, at 24) also has two big play threats in Super Bowl LIX, with Xavier Worthy and JuJu Smith Schuster playing in this year’s Big Game, while the two states tied for the fourth most scores (Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with 19 each) will likely see some separation after this year’s game, with Isiah Pacheco and Jahan Dotson likely to add to New Jersey’s total, while Pennsylvania’s hopes rest on Justin Watson’s performance for the Chiefs.

Don’t be surprised if Ohio jumps both states, as the Buckeye State’s current Super Bowl TD total of 18 will likely be bolstered by this year’s Ohio-born players, Travis Kelce, Kareem Hunt, and Grant Calcaterra, who will look to do their part to get the Midwest football hotbed up the TD leaderboard when K.C. and Philly square off on Feb. 9.

Don’t sleep on the state with the seventh most Super Bowl touchdowns, either, as Mississippi’s 16 scores (good for seventh nationally) will likely go up by a few when AJ Brown and Kenneth Gainwell of the Eagles take the field next month, with the superstar wideout and speedy running back having the on-field chops to add at least a score apiece in this year’s Big Game.
