On the heels of another MLB manager getting the ax, it’s worth wondering which skipper in “The Show” could join Derek Shelton and Bud Black on the firing line. With that in mind, BetMissouri.com – which will have top Missouri sportsbook promo codes when the state’s market goes live – broke down odds on which manager will be the next one to go.

Next MLB Manager Fired Odds

Manager Team Odds Percent Chance
Ron Washington  Los Angeles Angels +450 18.2%
Brandon Hyde Baltimore Orioles +550 15.4%
Dave Martinez Washington Nationals +550 15.4%
Rocco Baldelli Minnesota Twins +800 11.1%
John Schneider Toronto Blue Jays +800 11.1%
Joe Espada Houston Astros +1100 8.3%
Oliver Marmol St. Louis Cardinals +1100 8.3%
Aaron Boone New York Yankees +1500 6.3%
The Field  +1600 5.9%

Oliver Marmol of the St. Louis Cardinals is still among the leaders but no longer at the top of the list. This latest update comes on the heels of Colorado firing Black over the weekend. That came just a few days after the Pittsburgh Pirates ousted Shelton.

These odds won’t be available at Missouri sports betting sites when the market goes live later this year because they’re exclusive to BEtMissouri.com.

Which MLB Manager Gets Fired Next?

Some 201 games into his second stint as an MLB manager, it seems like the clock is winding down on Ron Washington’s time in Orange County. The veteran Los Angeles Angels skipper is our leading candidate to get fired next, at +450 odds.

Washington’s time with the Los Angeles Angels has far from matched the success he achieved on the bench with the Texas Rangers, where he went 664-611 (.521) in eight years, with AL pennants in successive seasons, 2010 and 2011. With the Angels, the 73-year-old Louisiana native is 79-122 (.393) including a 16-23 start to the 2025 season.

Any wager at Missouri sportsbook apps that had +450 odds would translate to an 18.2% implied probability.

Outside of Washington, keep an eye on fellow hot seat dwellers like Brandon Hyde of the Baltimore Orioles and Dave Martinez of the Washington Nationals, who are co-listed at +550 on our board. Rocco Baldelli of the Minnesota Twins and John Schneider of the Toronto Blue Jays are next in line, at +800 apiece.

Of that foursome, Martinez is the only one to have won a championship, doing so with the Nationals in 2019. He has yet to return to the postseason since, while Hyde has led Baltimore to consecutive playoff berths with zero series victories in either season.

A few longshot candidates to keep an eye on when it comes to managerial firing odds include Joe Espada of the Houston Astros and Marmol, who are listed at +1100 apiece. Aaron Boone of the New York Yankees rounds out our list right now at +1500.

St. Louis is surging, with an eight-game winning streak pulling them with a game of the Chicago Cubs at the to of the NL Central going into games of May 12. That’s why Marmol’s seat has cooled, because St. Louis Cardinals playoff odds look better in mid May than in late April, when the team was 10-15.

Of the managers attached to our most up-to-date firing odds board, Boone’s bunch has the best shot at winning it all this baseball season. The Bronx Bombers are second on the World Series odds board at DraftKings Sportsbook, at +800, well behind the defending world champion Los Angeles Dodgers, who lead the league at +260. But there’s no such thing as job security when you’re a skipper in Major League Baseball these days.
