How Will Cardinals Fare in Regular Season?
After missing the MLB postseason two years in a row, the task on manager Oliver Marmol’s shoulders is to get the Cardinals back to the sport’s main event in October across Missouri sports betting.
Based on preseason win total figures from DraftKings Sportsbook MO, it seems like such an outcome is less than likely in 2025, with St. Louis entering the year with an over/under of 76.5, to go with +360 odds of making the playoffs, ranking 11th in the 15-team National League.
As for what the past can tell us about the 2025 season in St. Louis, the Cardinals’ average difference between their Spring Training and regular season winning percentages has been about -.116, which tells us that we should expect a slog of a baseball season in 2025.
That’s because the Cardinals went 12-15 (.444) in Grapefruit League play in 2025, which means such a win percentage drop-off would result in a regular season figure of .328 in 2025, which would be the club’s worst year-end total since 1919, when they posted a .394 winning percentage.
For now, fans of the club can look forward to the Cardinals’ Opening Day tilt against the Minnesota Twins at Busch Stadium on Thursday afternoon, as another baseball season gets underway in St. Louis. And remember, the Cardinals have partnered with bet365 Missouri ahead of the launch of legal sports betting in the Show-Me State.
