Few things unite Americans of all backgrounds like a good, stiff drink, with residents of the Show-Me State evidently opting for a holiday classic this Christmas season, with eggnog winning the Missouri cocktail popularity contest in 2024.
Overall, eggnog was the state’s top holiday drink this year, with the custard concoction that’s usually mixed with either bourbon, whiskey or rum scoring a 13-point win over hot toddies, wassail, peppermint mochas and mulled wine.
In total, eggnog managed to score 18 search interest points in Missouri, while hot toddies (five search interest score) and wassail (four search interest score) were the next closest holiday concoctions, while peppermint mochas scored three points and mulled wine finished with two points.
BetMissouri.com wanted to break from Missouri sports betting updates and get into the holiday spirit by seeing what holiday-themed drinks are the most popular in Missouri. Using Google Trends, we conducted a search between September 20, 2024- December 19, 2024, to rank drinks by search interest scores.

Which Holiday Drinks Do Missouri Natives Prefer?
The custard based beverage known as eggnog scored a decisive win in Missouri, with the drink that dates back to The Modern Bartender’s Guide in 1878 beating out a quartet of holiday classics.
The Hot Toddy was next up, with a search interest score of five points, while wassail (four points), peppermint mochas (three points) and mulled wine(two search interest score) was the other drinks to make the cut in Kentucky this holiday season.
At day’s end, there was no competition for the holiday standard known as eggnog, though, with the dessert drink beating out a host of warmed up holiday drinks to take home the top spot in Missouri this Christmas.
